A Very well-maintained pocket cruiser with thousands of dollars in upgrades, accompanied by a refurbished double-axle trailer. Whether you are a beginner looking for your first sailboat or a veteran sailor in search of a proven boat design, the Catalina 22 is a great option. As of 4/19/25 she is in the water in a slip at Chatfield Reservoir. I anticipate putting her back on the trailer in a few weeks, so if you want to view her ready to sail, please don’t wait.
This boat is listed at a little higher price than you may normally see, but with all the upgrades, I should be asking 10k for it. Please contact me if you are interested in discussing the boat further or would like to go on a test sail.

The list of upgrades is too extensive to summarize briefly, so they are detailed below. A few highlights include her 3-year-old 6HP long-shaft outboard engine, a new Ruddercraft rudder, and updated standing and running rigging, with all lines led to the cockpit. New fully battened mainsail in 2024 from Precision Sails and a 135% Rolly Tasker genoa on a Rebuilt CDI furler. The cabin top is the pop-top version, complete with added gas-assist springs to aid in opening, and features the original pop-top cover. New Cabin lighting, updated navigation lights, bi-color cockpit courtesy lights, an automatic electric bilge pump, and a backup manual bilge.
Trailer – Double-axle trailer, ideal for traveling long distances. In 2025, the trailer was upgraded with new electronic brakes and drums, new wiring, and a new breakaway lug and battery. Two new tires were installed in 2024; the other three tires still hold air, but I believe they should be replaced before traveling long distances.
1 – All New Standing Rigging 2023.
*Added quick-connects on forward shrouds and an adjustable split backstay.
*Two lengths of forestay. I had one made that is 3 inches shorter to help raise the base of the furler and provide more room for the anchor.
2 – Rudder craft rudder and tiller (new 8/2022). This improved rudder design substantially reduced the leather helm that the Catalina 22’s are known for. The kick-up design helps keep it clean and protects in the event of grounding.
3- Running Rigging –
*New triple Spinlock clutches on the Starboard for the main halyard and two jiffy reefing lines.
* A Lazy-Jack system was installed in 2023
* Adjustable topping lift runs along the boom and back to the port side cabin top
* Mainsail outhaul runs in-boom back to the port side for easy access.
* An adjustable boom downhaul runs to the port side and through a clutch (the Catalina 22 has a floating boom at the mast. The adjustable boom downhaul allows for various mainsail positions with ease.
*Two Single-line jiffy reefing systems are rigged for the 2-reef points on the main and run through clutches on the starboard coach roof.
*2 new self-tailing winches for genoa sheets
5 – Electrical
*New Anchor Light 2022
*New Steaming and Deck Light 2022
*Additional Deck Light on the mast
*Bi-color courtesy lights in the cockpit
*Mast Wiring harness replaced in 2022
*3 LED cabin lights
*Completely replaced all wiring and installed a custom electrical box
*40-watt solar panel on the stern pulpit – new solar charge controller
*Battery monitor system
*USB and Cigarette lighter ports in the cockpit, and in the cabin mounted on the port bulkhead
6 – Additional Random updates
*Replaced cockpit scuppers
*Bow Anchor Roller
*New bow stem fitting (upgraded version from Catalina Direct)
*Bow Eye replaced
*New lifelines in 2024
*Added gas assist struts for the pop-top
* I have moved the electronics to my new boat, so those are something you will want to add yourself. I have left a hole that will fit a Triton display.
*The boat has three through-hulls that currently have plugs in them – ready for a new transducer or two for your electronics package.
*Bimini top over the cockpit with adjustable tracks.
7- Bottom Paint
*2021 – Removed everything – new epoxy barrier coat
*2 coats of VC-17 bottom paint
